Dustin Yellin and Pioneer Works had a holiday party over the weekend. I was invited into Mr. Yellin's studio to see up close how he builds his three dimensional glass composite collage paintings.

Yellin and his army of minions cut up hundreds of books, magazines, posters, etc. extracting people, places, and things of all sorts. The cut outs (and sometimes paint) are meticulously laid out on successive panes of glass/resin that are ultimately stacked on top of one another, bound via a chemical process, and voilá out comes an autostereoscopic composite.

If you are ever in Red Hook, or looking for an excuse to go, you should stop by his space to say hello.
