Regardless of what 'the newspaper of record' says, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), in Fort Greene, not Williamsburg, is the hottest place in Brooklyn (or at least it was last night).

BAM hosted its inaugural Pride Month celebration, EVERYBOOTY, across 3 floors of the Fisher Building on Ashland Place. The evening of DJs, performances, readings, and visual art installations was curated by Spankzine Buddy, HEY QUEEN!, Earl Dax and Max Steele's Fag City.

The House of Ladosha and Avan Lava gave incredible performances, Juliana Huxstable shared a stream of consciousness piece about the "two and a half miserable years" she spent working at the ACLU, and DJ Kim Ann Foxman kept the beats hot on the main dance floor. There were hairy giants, dolphins, chickens, jaguars, and the Golden Girls—what more could one want?
