Deva Mahal and Steph Brown have put together an exceptional group of musicians for a one night performance at Joe's Pub. Jaleel Bunton (from TV on The Radio) and Jeremy Freer are on guitar, Fen Ikner is on percussion, and Mister Reed is on backup vocals. Deva invited me to a rehearsal and we shot a quick video to give you a sneak peek.

I went to a hootenanny in Ridgewood, Queens on Monday night and it was great. Noah Block-Harley, Hubby Jenkins, Feral Foster, Jackson Lynch, Blind Boy Paxton, Maggie Carson from Spirit Family Reunion, and Sean McMahon, pictured above, gave incredible performances. BUTT Magazine hosted a "night club experiment" at Secret Project Robot on Saturday night to celebrate the publication of its 2014 calendar. These were the four best dressed guests.

The National Book Foundation threw a rager last night at Cipriani after their book awards ceremony and I shot the whole thing through a roll of toilet paper.

We WERE kicked out of the Yale Club.

Charli XCX killed it last night at the Out100 party. Total rock star.

Last night, Aaron Hicklin, Editor-in-Chief of Out Magazine (above), and a couple hundred other people celebrated this years OUT100 list. Blondie gave a stellar performance, Mariah Carey, unfortunately did not sing, and there were two people with a rare skin disease in attendance.

Charlie Finch, art critic and gossiper extraordinaire, hosted a dinner last night at the Yale Club to celebrate Richard Johnson's return to New York City. There were broken glasses, screaming obscenities at the table, ruined linens, pot smoking on the street, covert nudie photo shots, and great food.

Nice to meet you last night, should I leave your stuff here in the office with Hamilton?

Last night The Hole opened AREA: The Exhibition, an exhibition (clearly) celebrating AREA (of course!), one of the hottest night clubs in NYC during the 1980s. The fabled club was the nexus of the downtown art scene, and Mr. Deitch, lead curator of the show and former director of MOCA, wanted to recreate the experience.
